The food is really great here. The service is nice and friendly. A pleasant, rustic ambience. I like to go back here again and again.

Small menu but good food otherwise very rustic

There is good home-style cooking here, but in this case it's more home-style cooking. The portions are huge. The price is affordable and the taste is not neglected. Nobody goes out hungry here. And should it be the case, a lookup can help.

Huge portion. Too much ordered despite warnings from colleagues. Respect. Nice outside area, well screened from the street. Even for 10 people at lunchtime no problem, table reservations possible, but not necessary.

Quaint, unique, simple but nice

Food was there very quickly and extremely tasty. Price / performance perfect. Service very competent and friendly!

Today we wanted to have lunch for two in the Ruppmann Schänke. We are in the outside area, have greeted in a friendly manner and asked where we can sit down. The waitress said "wherever we want to go". We did that too. She came out of the restaurant several times and saw where we were sitting. After us came other guests who occupied two tables. When the waitress came out again we said "Hello" again, since we assumed that she would now like to take our order. Instead, she sat down directly and demonstratively at one of the newly occupied tables and took out her block. The men at the next table were - just like us - irritated. We then got up and left. The waitress didn't care either. In 2020 and in a multi-cultural city like Stuttgart, I don't have to spend my money on racists. There was no other reason why the waitress didn't serve us. Because in fact we were the only guests outside who looked "foreign". Anyone who has even a bit of decency boycotted something like that. This is my opinion. Sad, just sad.

I can also report as a non-smoker .... DELICIOUS! And I didn't care to sit in the smoking area! Would have given one for non-smokers. The portion was enormous! Thanks to the operator. There are already far too many who would like to have bars that may be 2 years old, then have to close but want to fool others. If you learn to understand the peculiarities of the locality, then you really have arrived. Thanks and best regards from Austria.

Very good food. Traditional atmosphere

Stopped in Stuttgart for the night, literally 4min walk from our hotel & stumbled across this little gem, not speaking a word of German ourselves we found a little frustrating but we were helped out by the owner, fantastic food & a good plate full too as we were all starving, would certainly visit again if in the area !!

Friendly staff. Food tastes good and the portion is huge. Next time I'm around again, I'll gladly come over!

Good food and kind staff, slightly disconnected and paid more attention to other customers. Doesn't take card, not an issue just a heads up.

Good food in big portions. Changing, inexpensive daily dinners and a nice outdoor area with good beer. It is allowed to smoke inside, and there is food in the non-smoking area, which is not as comfortable as the rest of the tavern.

There are beer gardens with a better view, but the portions are really big and the waiters are nice with a great sense of humor. Therefore five stars ??

Delicious food, extremely good value for money! Very nice and warm service. If you like a rustic pub (where you are allowed to smoke), you will love it.

The superb reviews are a joke (and a Stuttgart friend confirmed it), so I discovered at my expenses that is a quite average local “restaurant”. There’s a smoke area at the entrance with slot machines, and then a small and mediocre room for non smokers. The cook and the waitress are nice, the portions are big, but nothing else than a cheap local low level restaurant.
